Lies and Truth Book Review

 Lies and Truth
Elaine May
Dark Romance

This novel takes place over the course of Isla Holmes life. At the young age of only twelve, she loses everyone close to her in an accident where people including the love of her life, Joshua aka Joshie, presume she is dead. Only, this heroine is not dead, she is held in a basement at the hands of her uncle and cousin, where she is emotionally and physical abused and suffers unimaginable things.

At the age of eighteen, Isla is given a rope of freedom and with her new identity, she once again runs into the love of her life, the boy who's memory got her through the toughest times, but once he finds out who she really is, will the love he had for her still be there?

This novel has many dark elements as well as explicit language. It touches on the subjects of sexual abuse, torture, slavery and is very detailed and intense.

Overall, we believe this author has great potential, we would recommend and look forward to reading book two!

We give Lies and Truth 4 stars.
